What is a Bridal Boudoir Shoot?
It is an intimate photography session where brides wear revealing clothing, and is usually given to their spouse-to-be as a gift.
Imagine the feeling of literally CREATING art for your significant other that is filled with everything they love about you. It is incredibly powerful—it gives me chills just thinking about it!
A bridal boudoir shoot is not only the most personalized gift for your partner, but an amazing gift for YOU too. You’ll carry this newfound confidence and sense of self down the aisle with you!
Bridal Boudoir Outfit Ideas & Inspiration
What should you wear for my bridal boudoir photoshoot? Here’s my list of what to wear and bring with you to your shoot.
- Wedding Shoes
- Engagement Ring
- Veil
- Jewelry
- Lingerie
- Wedding Dress
- His things
- Bedroom fantasies
- Perfume
Let’s dive into each!
Wedding Shoes
Did you splurge on a fancy pair of shoes for the big day? Bring them along for your bridal boudoir photoshoot!

Engagement Ring
Definitely bring your engagement ring to wear for your bridal boudoir shoot! Be sure to get your engagement ring cleaned so it’s sparkly for your photo session.

Veil
What else is part of your wedding day wardrobe? Your veil can be photographed in a traditional way, but also used as a beautiful framing for more abstract fine art nude photos.
Jewelry
Wedding day jewelry or any jewelry your spouse has already gifted to you adds a personal touch to your bridal boudoir shoot. Pearls and diamonds are classics!

Lingerie
Bra, panties, stockings, and lingerie items you have chosen for your wedding or honeymoon are a great place to start for your photo session wardrobe.
Wedding Dress
If you’re feeling up for it, bringing your wedding dress can be a fantastic way to tell more of your story. We can create storytelling images peeling the layers of the onion back as you step in and out of your dress, giving peeks of your wedding day lingerie as well.

His things
Bring anything that belongs to him or shows him you specifically had him in mind—his team’s jersey, a button up shirt and tie of his, or incorporate his favorite cocktail, cigar, or book. Photos with his belongings are a great idea for your bridal boudoir shoot and can add a great touch.

Bedroom fantasies
Take it to the next level if there is a fantasy he’s had for adventures in the bedroom! Maybe he’s mentioned a fantasy of blindfolding you and teasing you with a feather. Let’s create that epic shot to spark his imagination!

Perfume
If you have a signature perfume that you’ll be wearing for your wedding day, bring it to your boudoir session and we can showcase that pretty bottle in some stunning detail shots to come together with your other details.
What to do With The Photos from your Bridal Boudoir Session
I did this amazing shoot. Now what? How should I gift my spouse from my bridal boudoir photo session?
First of all, we do have some options for quicker turnaround, but generally speaking, it’s best to book a session date at least 6 months before your wedding. That will give us the most options for creating the perfect keepsake for this special milestone gift.
All of our keepsakes are of the highest quality and will make an impressive (and thoughtful!!) gift that is going to blow them away!
Most clients opt for an album for YOU and a smaller album for THEM. We have some other amazing options for gift-giving to your special someone.
Here are a few ideas on how to gift your bridal boudoir photos:

Custom-designed photo album
This is a timeless present, and the best way to preserve your images and your story for generations to come (yes, Grandma WAS that hot!! 🥵)
Table-top folio with 3 matted images
A table-top folio is made for the spouse who loves bragging about you in front of every group of friends, or hell, any random stranger as well.
Mobile phone app
For the techie BAE who keeps everything on their phone and also perfect for the person who travels a lot for work.
Peepshow viewmaster
Marrying an old-school classic movie buff or someone who is just simply charmed by vintage goodies and bygone eras? This is always a favorite gift item!
When Should I Give my Partner the Bridal Boudoir Photos?
Traditionally, gifts were exchanged the morning of the wedding, but modern day wedding schedules can be a bit hectic! You could give it the night before the wedding or when you return from your honeymoon. But surprising them the morning AFTER the wedding is really fun so that you have something to look forward to after the party is over and you can share that moment together in its fullness.
Can We Keep this a Secret?
Absolutely! Your photos and experience are confidential unless you give us permission to share them. We’re honored that so many of our clients allow us to share photos to help empower others. Don’t worry, we can also wait until after the wedding to share too!
